The Peripheral Hospitals Emergency Medicine Conference (PHEMC) is the major activity of a non-profit organisation dedicated to Emergency Medicine education and training. The first conference was held in 2002 in the Hunter Valley and was a resounding success. Feedback indicated strong support for the format and requested that the conference become an annual event.
